¡Bienvenido a Panamá!

After what seems like a whole day of traveling, I have finally made it to Panama, safe and sound! I arrived around 2pm, Panama time, an hour behind home.  After landing, we boarded our bus and headed to el supermercado (the grocery store). It was only about a 40 minute drive from the airport, which is in Panama City.  The grocery store was different than I had expected. To my surprise, it was pretty much designed exactly like Publix! They even carried some well known brands we find in America such as "Kellog's," "Yoplait" and "Coca Cola." I only picked up a few things for breakfast tomorrow, since we are only staying here for one night. I threw bananas, milk, and Marshmallow Matey's (similar to Lucky Charms) in my basket to tide me over.  Tonight we are staying at Ciudad Del Saber, also known as the City of Knowledge, or Clayton.  It is similar to dorm style living, and much nicer than I had anticipated, which is always a relief! Here's a picture of our house for the night!

We ate dinner on the Causeway at Mi Ranchito Restaurante.  I have decided not to eat any meat here, so I ordered Arroz Blanco y Patacones (white rice and fried green plantains).  It was delicious! I would definitely order both side dishes again. Besides being at the restaurant for almost three hours, I had a great experience. It was difficult for the server to accommodate our group all at one time! I'm definitely ready to head to bed after such a long day!  Lots on the agenda for tomorrow! I will be touring Panama City and visiting the Panama Canal!

Hasta mañana!

XOXO, Jenny
